As the Digital Producer for The Dan & Maz Show on 2Day FM, I was the first radio show in Australia to embrace Snapchat. The social strategy for the platform was a unique behind the scenes look into the show that existed well beyond the 3 hours the show was on-air, aimed at our key demo of 18-35. It gave fans a glimpse into the broader personalities involved in putting the show together and created a tight knit community.

The Snapchat became known for surprise competitions, outrageous sneak peeks and general hilarity. It quickly grew in size and at its peak our Snaps were getting up to 18k+ opens and Snapchat themselves told us we had one of the biggest brand accounts in the country. I also monetised the platform and we had sponsored posts from companies such as KFC, Gelato Messina, Nando’s, Cadbury and Burger King. We also dropped weekly Snapchat Compliations on Facebook and Twitter, pushing more people to follow us.
