Peak Street Magazine

Editorial & Publishing

Peak Street Magazine was a high quality hip hop publication that I created and published for almost five years. I acted as the editor in chief and managed every facet of the publication from organising contributing writers, graphic designers and photographers, to overseeing printing, selling advertising and organising distribution.

Every issue 10,000 copies of the full-colour, 80+ page magazine were distributed nationally through Shogun Distribution to record stores, niche retailers and major JB Hi-Fi’s.

From an editorial standpoint the magazine had a real emphasis on highlighting underexposed hip hop artists from here and abroad. It also provided a platform to publish the writing and art of over 120+ local creatives during it’s run.

Major advertisers included Universal Music, Warner Brothers, Footlocker, Adidas and Rockstar Games.

I personally got to interview and highlight the work of artists like Jehst, Pegz, Brad Strut, Brother Ali, Juggaknots, Braintax and M-Phazes just to name a few.
